Privacy Policy

Guitar Man does not collect or share personal data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device; the only thing it sends is anonymous usage counts, described below.

• Anonymous usage statistics: the app sends anonymous counts to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, so we can see how many people use it and which features they open. This includes when the app is opened, which screens are opened, and how many Daily Practice steps are completed, along with the app version, iOS version, device model, language, and time zone. It never includes your name, email, recordings, compositions, or anything you type, and it identifies your device only by an anonymous, one-way scrambled ID that can't be linked back to you. It isn't used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites, and it's never sold.
• No ads and no tracking across apps or websites.
• No account creation or sign-in is required.
• No personal data is collected or sold.
• Microphone: used on your device for the tuner, the looper, and Composition’s Play Along, which listens for the chords you play. Audio is never uploaded or shared, and Play Along doesn’t record or keep it.
• Compositions: chord progressions you write are saved only on your device. They are removed when you delete them in the app or delete the app.
• Saved loop layers: if you choose to save a looper layer, it is stored only on your device. It is removed when you delete it in the app or delete the app.
• Practice reminders: scheduled as local notifications on your device. No server is involved.
• Screen Time: if you turn on “Block apps until I practice,” the apps you choose are covered using Apple’s Screen Time features. Your selection stays on your device, is not visible to the app as app names, and is never collected or shared.

If you contact support via email, the email address and message content are used only to respond to your request. Support emails are not shared with third parties.

Children’s privacy: Guitar Man does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy updates: If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
